Alley Cat Hair Shop...For the PUR-RRRFECT Look

Gail Wood is a 1966 graduate of Hughesville High School. In 1968 she graduated from JaMel School of Cosmetology in Bloomsburg (now the Bloomsburg Hair & Design Academy). Gail worked at Regis Hairstyling at the Lycoming Mall for three years prior to buying the Alley Cat Hair Shop in 1988 when it was a one room shop on the alley behind the Muncy Borough Building.

The Alley Cat Hair Shop has developed into a full service salon offering total hair care services for the entire family. Spa, wig, and tanning services are also offered.

The shop also carries a wide selection of professional hair, skin, and nail care products including brands such as: OPI, Matrix, Murad, Back to Basics, Scruples, Zoya, Wella, California Tan, Pravana, Henry Margu Wigs, and much more.

Gail states: “My philosophy has always been education, education, education. The minute you think you know everything about this business, you’ve just put a nail in your coffin.”

Alley Cat stylists attend seminars through the PA Barber & Cosmetology Association (formerly the PA chapter of the National Cosmetology Association) of which Gail is the Immediate Past President of the board.
